Turning Ocean Trash into Corporate Pride. Takihyo’s Sustainable Material “AQUAROBE®” Has been Adopted for NOHHI LOGISTICS CO., LTD.’s “Uniforms Connecting to the Future,” Celebrating its 110th Anniversary
Takihyo Co., Ltd. (Head office: Nishi-ku, Nagoya City; Representative Director and President: Kazuo Taki), a textile trading company founded in 1751, is announcing the development of “AQUAROBE®,” a sustainable material created by upcycling discarded plastic bottles from the ocean, and its adoption for the new uniforms of NOHHI LOGISTICS CO., LTD. (Head office: Gifu City, Gifu Prefecture; President and Representative Director: Keiji Ozeki). These uniforms will be introduced in April 2026 as part of the company’s 110th anniversary commemorative projects.
[Background to the Initiative]
In recent years, compliance with international environmental standards and contributing to the SDGs across the entire supply chain have become critical management issues in the logistics industry as well.
With this background, NOHHI LOGISTICS CO., LTD., which is celebrating its 110th anniversary, has decided to renew its employee uniforms as part of its commemorative initiatives and as a symbolic effort to promote the company’s environmental management.
To address this challenge, Takihyo proposed “AQUAROBE®,” a sustainable material developed in-house using recycled discarded plastic bottles from the ocean, which led to its adoption in this project. Through this collaboration, the two companies will implement specific actions to fulfill their corporate social responsibilities.
[Overview and Features of Initiatives]
From April 2026, sustainable uniforms made from the eco-friendly material “AQUAROBE®” will be introduced as the employee uniforms for NOHHI LOGISTICS.

■ What is “AQUAROBE®”?
This recycled material is made from recycled plastic bottles that were disposed of on beaches and in the ocean. By collecting trash from the ocean, which can cause environmental problems, and reusing it in products, we contribute to waste reduction and the efficient use of resources.
Feature 1: Sustainable material derived from discarded plastic bottles in the ocean
Contributing to solving the worsening problems of plastic waste in the ocean, and clearly demonstrating companies’ commitment to reducing their environmental impact.
Feature 2: A symbol commemorating the 110th anniversary of the company’s founding
Introduced at a historical milestone in the company’s history as a symbol of its commitment to sustainability for the future. Aiming to enhance the company’s brand value and strengthening its message to stakeholders.
Feature 3: Solving problems through cross-industry collaboration
Through a partnership that leverages the expertise of both logistics and fashion, aiming to solve the common societal challenges of sustainability.
[Future Outlook]
As a sustainable solutions company, we will continue to promote the development of eco-friendly materials, including “AQUAROBE®,” and co-creation initiatives. We will focus on satisfying diverse corporate needs across various industries and achieving sustainable management.
