Comfortable Sustainability That You Get to “Experience by Staying at a Hotel” Providing Recycled Polyester Fixtures for the “Yurikamome 30th Anniversary Collaboration Room” at Tokyo Bay Ariake Washington Hotel
Takihyo Co., Ltd. (head office: Nishi Ward, Nagoya City; Representative Director, President and CEO: Kazuo Taki), a textile trading company founded in 1751, is providing original fixtures made from recycled polyester for the “Yurikamome 30th Anniversary Collaboration Room” at the Tokyo Bay Ariake Washington Hotel, operated by FUJITA KANKO INC. (Guest stays in the room will start on October 15, 2025.) The fixtures are based on the concept of our “NO WASTE PROJECT.” The aim of this collaboration is to combine the value of the hotel’s “extraordinary accommodation experience” with our own sustainable manufacturing, so that guests get to directly experience the quality and comfort of environmentally friendly materials.
■ Background to the Initiative
This initiative began when Tokyo Bay Ariake Washington Hotel was considering contributing to the SDGs as added value to the hotel experience, as part of a special project commemorating the 30th anniversary of the opening of the Yurikamome New Transit System.
Our manufacturing approach of pursuing quality while using recycled fibers and our sustainability policy of valuing limited resources matched the hotel’s needs. The project is the fruit of utilizing cross-industry knowledge to co-create new value in the form of a “sustainable accommodation experience.”

Feature 3: [Stories woven from emotion]
We will provide products that will remain in guests’ memories by incorporating the message of “valuing limited resources” into the commemorative project that is the “Yurikamome 30th Anniversary.”
■ Prospects for the Future
As a “sustainable solutions company,” we will use this collaboration as a model case to continue to promote the co-creation of new products and services through sustainable initiatives with various partner companies in the hotel industry and a range of other industries as well.
[NO WASTE PROJECT]
The NO WASTE PROJECT is a recycling system built on the concept of “not wasting anything.”
We are reducing our environmental impact by, depending on the item, using polyester yarn made from scraps and recycled PET bottles, and cotton yarn made by taking old clothes and fabric scraps generated when making apparel products, crushing them back into fibers, then re-spinning them into yarn, fabric, and products.
