Bringing the Joy of Fashion to Children in Our Community Takihyo Donates Formal Wear to Children from Nagoya’s Child Welfare Facilities

Takihyo Co., Ltd. (Head office: Nishi-ku, Nagoya City; Representative Director and President: Kazuo Taki), a textile trading company founded in 1751, held an event on March 7 as part of its social contribution activity “Happiness,” which aims to bring smiles to people through fashion. The event invited 59 children preparing to enter or graduate from elementary school this year, from 12 child welfare facilities in Nagoya City, and presented them with formal wear manufactured by our company.

The first half of the event featured a workshop where the children made textile cards using scraps of fabric. After creating their own one-of-a-kind pieces on cardstock of various shapes, the children celebrated the start of their new journey over light refreshments at Komeda Coffee, which we operate as a franchise. At the end of the event, each child was handed formal wear made by our company, bringing smiles to their faces.

The “Happiness” initiative started in 2011 and annually invites children preparing to enter or graduate from elementary school to our head office for a workshop, celebratory meal, and a formal wear gift-giving event. To date, “Happiness” has donated a total of 19,053 pieces of clothing to 7,880 children.
Going forward, as a community-rooted company, we will continue contributing to enriching the lives of people in the community through fashion.
